2weeks**4days

Two weeks and four days since my last post.

~~~
Friday, August 1st, the Monkey had surgery.
He had his ear tubes removed and new ones put in, along with his adenoids removed.
We arrived at the hospital 2 hours prior to surgery time.
He was so happy and playing great with his toys,  even enjoyed watching TV.
Once it was time to prep him for surgery, he became very agitated.
When it was time for the nurse to take him back to the O.R., he screamed and cried for me.
Broke.My.Heart.
After surgery they carried him back to me crying and disoriented.
The anesthesiologist told me he was pretty sure everyone in the O.R. was able to hear my little boy.
It took awhile for him to come out of the drowsiness but once he did he was in great spirits.
Here is he is almost an hour after his surgery
 AND, here he is a little bit later.
At home trying to rest while watching the Disney Channel!  I can tell a huge in improvement in him since the surgery.
I know he is feeling much better.
It's BACK-TO-SCHOOL Time!!!
So hard to believe summer is over and another school year is beginning.
Superhero is in 2nd grade
Princess is in her third and last year of preschool
Monkey is embracing his first year of preschool
Back to school = No T.V. at bedtime.
No T.V. at bedtime = Sad, sad kiddos.
At this very moment they are praying for the weekend to arrive!!
GIRLS NIGHT OUT!!!
~~~
The weather has been fabulous.
Highs in the 80's with a light breeze.
Superhero and I went on several bike rides and it was SO much fun!
I played a little baseball with the boys. I'm really horrible, but they still let me play!

~~~
Hope everyone has a great week and I can't wait to catch-up on your blogs!!
What a busy weekend....
Saturday night the Superhero celebrated his 8th birthday with his friends playing Laser Tag!
There was so much going on that I failed to take any photos.
BUT
I did manage to get a photo of the cake!
Bedroom Makeover for the Princess
This project remains a work-in-progress
My husband is on labor duty and I am on shopping duty!
Sunday morning I headed out with the older two kids to pick out the perfect shade of pink.
This ended up being much more difficult than I had imagined. There are SO many shades of pink!!The Princess and I picked out what we thought would be just the right color.
Oh.My.Gosh.
It looks like bubble gum is splattered all over the walls!
Each time we enter the room we feel like we are entering a candy store on crack.
Would you like a lollipop?
The most important thing, though, is that my little girl absolutely adores it.
She is in love with the color.
Whenever we have guest over, she immediately directs them to her room to show off the new color.
 She is so proud of it.
I suppose it does fit her personality. It is bold, loud and sassy!!
~~~

Mr. Monkey is experiencing some major ear pain.
Poor little guy has the worst ears.
He had tubes put in both ear canals over a year ago and it appears that we are headed back to the O.R.
He keeps his little finger in his ear and says "it hurs momma, it hurs".
OH.MY.GOSH.
Breaks my heart.

Bella the Bunny

This is Bella.
She is a bunny that belongs to my little Princess.

Flashback one year ago:
The Princess has just turned three years old and still takes the pacifier.
She was the type of child that never really cared for the pacifier, until she was about 2 ½.
From there, she became attached!
I tried to take it away several times, but never had the will power to follow through.
Especially at night time when I all wanted to was to crawl into bed and drift off to sleep.
She would start crying for it, and I would give in.

My mother had an idea for the Princess to leave her pacifiers for the Easter Bunny.
The Easter Bunny would come and take the pacifiers for her baby bunnies.
Brilliant.
The Princess loved the idea and was more than happy to give her pacifiers to the baby bunnies!

The night before Easter Sunday, the Princess and I placed the pacifiers outside.
Come morning time, the pacifiers were gone.

I tossed all but one of the pacifiers.

Later that week, we took the Princess to Build A Bear,
and that is when Bella became a part of our family.
When you squeeze Bella’s hand you will fill the pacifier!

Silly? Maybe.
But she loves that bunny!

Happy Retirement, Grandpa

Over twenty years ago my grandfather retired from the US Postal Service.
Now, seventeen years later, he is retiring from the school corporation.

He once told me that a man should never stop working,
unless he is no longer physically able.
I am not sure what his upcoming plans are …
but I'm pretty sure that my children and I can help keep him busy if he runs out of things to do!

As I mentioned in a previous post, last Thursday evening we attended his retirement dinner.
We had a fabulous evening.
My children were, overall, very well behaved
and the meal was exceptional.

A great photo of my wonderful grandparents with my oldest son.
I am so blessed to have them in my life!
I just had to add this one of the Princess ...
I big puffy heart those curls!
(And they're natural too)

Everyone that I met that evening would continuously say
how much they are going to miss working with my grandfather.
He really is a one-of-a-kind-guy.
I don’t think he has ever encountered a person who does not instantly fall in love with him.
Happy Retirement, Grandpa!
Cheers to the next chapter in life!!

So Much Personality

These photos were taken last Thursday evening
 prior to leaving for my Grandfather’s retirement dinner.
Mr. Monkey was napping so he missed out on the photo shoot. I hope they always have this much fun together!

A Prissy Princess & A Baseball Boy

This afternoon the Princess and I went shopping at a local children’s boutique.
I simply adore this shop, as does she.

My daughter is such the little shopper.
She loves picking out things to buy.
Of course, she is very much like her Momma, always heads straight for the most expensive items!

The store is set up with a sweet little area for the kids to play, which allows Mom to shop in peace. She had a ton of fun playing tea party and was so sad when it was time to leave.

Here are some of the items we purchased today....
She looks so sweet in this outfit with her brown bouncy curls.
This white dress is so soft and just perfect.
She looks simply beautiful in it. She fell in love with this dress.Here is my Prissy-Sassy-Princess before we ventured out today.
She had been playing in my makeup bag shortly before this photo was taken!

~~~
Meanwhile, across town, my baseball boy had his first game of the season.
Isn't he handsome????
His team won, 12-2.
Way to go, Superhero!
Hope you are having a fabulous weekend.
Party Time for the Princess
This past weekend, we celebrated this sweet little girls special day!
PARTY TIME!!! I think the Superhero beat his father down the slide!
HeeHee ~ Mr. Monkey is soooo funny!
He had so much fun at this party.
The Monkey is already flirting with his sister's friends!
There I am in the middle of a boxing match with my cousin!
I'm pretty sure she kicked my butt!!
Such Pretty Girls ~ I *Love* this Photo
What a *Handsome* Superhero
My Princess
After she opened a present she would say
"Now can I have another one please"
I would shoot her a look
and without saying a word she knew I was thinking "Stop that!"
because she simply replied "What? I said Please!"
Happy 4th Birthday, Princess!!!
Enjoy the video that the Father created for the Princess!
*Listen for her to say "Now can I have another one".*
