Letting Go

Today the lil’ Princess had her 1st field trip with preschool.
It was very exciting.
I re-arranged my schedule so that I could partake on this adventure with her.

She tried to talk her Daddy into going on the field trip also.
But he had meetings to attend today and was unable to join us.
She was bummed.
She wanted her Daddy to ride on the school bus with her.

So anyway,
we arrive at school looking oh so adorable
(btw, I’m referring to both of us)
and I was then informed that Mommy’s are not allowed to attend this field trip.
Oh my goodness!
I didn’t know how I was going to leave this sweet and precious little girl.
Would they take care of her, would they watch her closely???
And why am I the only mother who seems worried about this?!!!??
**Perhaps I worry just a lil’ too much**

Meanwhile, my daughter has forgotten all about me
and is busy with her friends.

After the field trip:
Mommy:  "How were the trains?"
Princess:  "Ohhh, the trains were amazing Mommy"
The she looked at me and said:
"Mommy…….
when you go away my heart breaks for you
and I know that your heart breaks for me too."

Ohhh, she did miss me and she didn’t forget about me completely!!!

Why is it so hard to let go? I wish she could stay little forever.

Oh my gosh! I think I would have cried my eyes out...! You're much braver than I would have been! I seriously would have ended up following that bus.

Thank you so much for your sweet comments - we still need to get together soon! Let me know when would be good for you - maybe girls night Saturday? *crossing fingers!*

Love ya girl - I'll talk to you soon!

Woman, you live to make me cry! Thank you for warning me about what is coming...let's see, if I home school, I can wait to let go until college? marriage? retirement? hmmmm, let me begin plotting our life on a communal farm now.

Your daughter is so sweet. I love her little words!
