Colossians Award

This afternoon we ventured out to Superhero’s award program at school. It was very special because he had no clue he was being honored with the “Colossians Award”. One child from each class was picked by their teacher to receive this award.

My husband, grandfather, Princess, Monkey and myself were there anxiously waiting for the Superhero’s name to be called. Little did we know that would be the last award handed out! Anxiously waiting turned into awful behavior.
Both kiddos started out doing really good. They were both really excited to be there and loved when they were able to clap, especially my Monkey. That lasted a whole 10 minuets though!

The Princess was “hirsty” and really, really needed a drink. She needed a drink so desperately that she could no longer remain quiet.
Don’t be fooled by that sweet smile … she was a handful.

Now, let’s talk about Mr. Monkey. He was here, he was there … He wanted up, he wanted down … He wanted to talk when he wasn’t suppose to and he wanted to go see his big brother!

Eventually he had to be escorted out of the auditorium. Doesn’t he just look mischievous?

Finally, my husband and I were both able to view the awards show with both of the children sitting next to us.

The Superhero’s name was called a total of three times.

(He is the one in the orange stripped shirt.)

The first time he received a metal for wrestling. The second time he was awarded with a certificate for attaining highest honors, a GPA of 3.75-4.0. Then he was called for the Colossians 3:23. He was so proud of himself and he had a smile beaming from ear to ear. My husband and I are so incredibly proud of this little boy. He is such an amazing soul and I am so proud to call him my son.

His daddy took him out this evening for a special surprise… The video game for his Nintendo DS he has been wanting for a very, very long time. I think it was well deserved.

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men" Colossians 3:23

What a special (but crazy) event for your little family. You must be very proud. Aren't they always the last to be called? LOL We went to see Lauren's Honor Choir a couple weeks ago and she was the second to last group. Thankfully her older brother is patient. It gets easier the older they get.
